I got this email this morning from one of the Scottish paddlers, Nik, who got a Ringer with his friend Sam. Anyone who knows the Scotts, knows they speak their minds, so getting this note was very welcomed!
Here it is:

Sam and Nik’s Ringers
I’ll just chip in at this point, been out in my ringer 3 times this week all on my local river, the Tay. levels have been dropping and not had it out when river levels are bigger yet, however the story so far…
Wow, like a proper wow.
First things first it’s just such a beautiful boat, I love it, I could just look at it if I wasn’t busy paddling it. I literally burst out laughing first few times I got out and picked it up again, the weight is just fabulous.
First time out I went directly to the biggest waterfall by volume in the UK (sounds impressive but it’s not dropping much, think it’s a little over a metre 😂 it’s just that there’s is a hell of alot of water comes through it) anyhoo it creates waves, whirlpools and tons of mad boils and interesting currents. River Levels were getting close to the spicier end for my skillset where I would normally play there so a good test for me to try out the ringer. It was nothing short of outstanding, I found the ringer both forgiving and stable, its blistering fast, omg so fast. It skips over chop and glides over boils in a way I’ve never experienced. Despite the tail being there to drop into squirts when I want it, it doesn’t get grabbed and nibbled at by the complicated currents or whirlies the way my other half slice boats do, or infact any other boat I’ve tried. Its So confidence inspiring it’s just a joy.
It rolls easy
It squirts and tail stalls great.
And omg does it surf! It’s bloody fantastic on the waves I’ve tried, soo fast, so quick and nimble edge to edge it’s impossible not to be grinning like a mad man surfing this thing. It catches and surfs the smallest of waves on the river, and just gets better and more fun the bigger they get.
In short
I am in love with this kayak, I’ve loved other kayaks in the past but I can tell this is true love 🥰.
